Meet the girls!
When we first decided to branch out beyond our backyard garden, it seemed like a no-brainer to go with chickens next. After a it got old saying things like - "You know, the one chicken... the brown one with the white spot. No, not that one, the other one..." So, we named them. Then, because I have a twisted sense of humor, I figured that if we had to have a bunch of hens in a henhouse that it would be amusing to name them all "old lady" names. So, without further ado:
Bertha - Black Australorp
Myrtle - Rhode Island Red
Frannie and Frankie - Barred Plymouth Rock
Betty and Sue - Black Star (Black Sexlink)
Eleanor - Easter Egger
Alice - Easter Egger
Edna - Easter Egger
Blanche - Ameraucana
Agnes - White Leghorn
Helga - Brown Leghorn
Helen - Welsummer
